Halfway between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai provinces, PDA’s Community Based Integrated Rural Development Center (CBIRD) serves as a node for various rural development activities, including HIV/AIDS education, environmental protection, village banks and other services for the rural poor in the area.

CBIRD Wiang Pa Pao of PDA operates a well-renowned C&C restaurant with a comprehensive menu of local specialities, even such exotica – if in season - as ‘yam khai mod daeng’ (red ant egg salad), as well as simple, nutritious local ‘fast’ food for the travelers on route between Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai who can also use the services of a mini-mart and handicraft shop.

You may also stay at the CBIRD Wiang Pa Pao Cottages or Hotel facility. It has all the modern conveniences of home. Room rates are economical and may or may not include breakfast, as you require. This is also an ideal place to hold a conference or meeting, and the conference room can accommodate up to 100 persons.
